Important: CargoBuddy is currently in development. While we have basic safety measures in place, users should exercise caution and use their own judgment when arranging deliveries.
Current Safety Features
Account Verification
- All users must create an account with a verified email address
- Authentication is handled by Convex Auth, a secure identity management platform
- Each account is linked to a unique user profile
Driver Approval Process
- Drivers must apply through our application system
- Applications are reviewed before driver privileges are granted
- Only approved drivers can create routes
- Driver status can be revoked if needed
Activity Tracking
- All user activities are logged for accountability
- Route creation and jobs are tracked
- Users can view their own activity history
- Admins can monitor platform activity
Support System
- Built-in support ticket system for reporting issues
- Users can submit concerns or complaints
- Admin team reviews and responds to tickets
Safety Guidelines for Users
For Senders
- Meet drivers in public, well-lit locations
- Don't share personal information beyond what's necessary
- Take photos of your items before handover
- Get driver contact information for tracking
- Trust your instincts - if something feels wrong, don't proceed
- Report any concerning behavior through our support system
For Drivers
- Only accept packages you're comfortable transporting
- Verify package contents match the description
- Don't transport prohibited or illegal items
- Meet senders in safe, public locations
- Keep records of pickups and deliveries
- Report suspicious requests immediately
What We DON'T Currently Have
As we're still in development, some safety features are not yet implemented:
- Background checks or identity verification beyond email
- Insurance coverage for deliveries
- Payment protection or escrow services
- Real-time tracking of deliveries
- User ratings or review system
- Automated fraud detection
- In-app messaging with safety monitoring
Users participate at their own risk and should take appropriate precautions.
Prohibited Items
The following items must not be sent through CargoBuddy:
- Illegal substances or contraband
- Weapons or explosives
- Hazardous materials
- Live animals
- Perishable items requiring refrigeration
- Cash or negotiable instruments
- Items prohibited by Australian law
Report a Problem
If you experience or witness any safety issues, inappropriate behavior, or suspicious activity, please report it immediately through our support ticket system. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.

While we work to create a safe platform, users are ultimately responsible for their own safety and the legality of their actions. CargoBuddy is a connection platform and cannot guarantee the behavior or reliability of individual users.
By using CargoBuddy, you acknowledge these limitations and agree to take reasonable precautions to protect yourself and your property.
